GENERAL JOSEPH A. J. LIGHTBURN
(1824-1901)
Union Civil War officer, spent his youth
in the vicinity of Weston. He took part in
operations in southern West Virginia, was
commissioned brigadier general in 1863,
and took part in the Vicksburg campaign
and Sherman's march on Atlanta. The Lewis
County Community of Lightburn is named
after him.
