Established 1928; enlarged 1939. Bennington Battle
Monument and Historical Association owns the
institution. John Spargo, president of the Associa-
tion, is Director-Curator. The Art Gallery is devoted
to Vermont art. The Museum has priceless col-
lections of relics and manuscripts relating to the
history of the region. It is one of the most beauti-
ful museums in America.
