The Mother Church of Christian Science is K1989
located in the Back Bay. Built of Indiana lime-
stone and New Hampshire granite, it seats five
thousand people. The dome rises 224 feet above
the street and houses a huge bell which tolls
the hours of the day and night. Adjacent is
the Christian Science Publishing Society's build-
ing in which is located the famous Mapparium.
