PARK STREET CORNER TREMONT STREET,
PARK STREET CHURCH (BRIMSTONE CORNER),
AND STATE HOUSE, BOSTON, MASS.
erected in 1810 on the site of the granary
where the sails of the United States Frigate
"Constitution" were made. The name "Brim-
stone Corner' was given to this section because
of the gunpowder that was stored in the base-
ment of the Church in 1812. Prior and during
the Civil War the views and principles of the
Abolitionists were preached here.
