Monte Carlo. The picture shows one of the beautiful
gambling halls of the Casino, which is devoted to Roulette.
This is the popular play at Monte Carlo, and in spite of
the odds being in favour of the Bank the tables are
always crowded with votaries of the game. Trente-et-
quarante is also played, at which very high stakes are won
and lost, a special saloon being reserved for this game.
