An Arab Marriage Party. The picture shows a sight
which may be frequently met with by tourists in the
vicinity of Cairo. The procession is not very imposing,
consisting usually of two camels, the front one bearing a
platform on which are seated the parents of the bride and
bridegroom, while behind travels the bride, securely
hidden from observation (according to the rules of the
Mohammedan religion) by a tent which is ornamented with
palm leaves.
