Lindsborg, Kansas, with a population of about
2,000 located on the St. Louis-Kansas City-
Colorado line of the Missouri Pacific, 221 miles.
West of Kansas City, was recently said to be
"the most musical town in America." Every
Easter week "The Messiah" is rendered by a
great chorus selected from the inhabitants of
this little city. The chorus is assisted by one
of the best symphony orchestras in America,
such as the New York Philharmonic or the
Boston Symphony and some of the greatest
operatic stars of the age. Mme. Galli-Curci
and Ysaye assisted at the 1917 festival.
members of this chorus have been trained from
early youth and sing not as a chorus but as
one great voice. Music lovers from all parts of
the central West visit Lindsborg for this an-
nual event.
