The State of Kansas is the greatest wheat
producing state in the Union. In a single year
Kansas has produced enough wheat to require
a train of 184,639 cars containing 1,000 bushels
each. This train would be 1,480 miles long
and it would require 6,000 locomotives to move
it. It would reach from Salt Lake City, Utah,
to St. Louis, Mo.
The picture on the reverse side is that of a
200 acre field at Belle Plaine, Kansas, on the
line of the Missouri Pacific. The field averaged
38 bushels per acre. The automobile seen in
the picture is a large touring car and the men
standing are 5 feet 11 inches tall.
