WANAPUM DAM POWERHOUSE. This hydroelectric
power plant built on the Columbia River near Van-
tage, Washington by the Public Utility District of
Grant County at a cost of $164,500,000, has a name-
plate rating of 831,250 kilowatts. The 1000 foot long
powerhouse contains 10 generating units. The Tour
Center in the foreground contains many interesting
artifacts and displays.
