The Estancia
Additional Details:
Built about 1823 to shelter Indian herders of Mission San Juan Capistrano's cattle hereabouts, the Estancia survived California's Indian, Mission, Spanish and Victorian periods. Once home of Don Diego Sepulveda (ex-mayor of the Pueblo de Los Angeles), it is now a state historical landmark - Costa Mesa's oldest tie with the past, it is in Estancia Park at Adams Avenue and Mesa Verde Drive West, near the Santa Ana River.
