Out of the fox holes of Bataan
The world hears news of a fearless man3;
A man who keeps fighting against all odds
With a hand full of men and the help of God.
And the heart of America swells with pride,
With a confidence strong he'll soon turn the tide.
Out of the fox holes of Bataan-
To win the fray is his only plan.
No grumbling of overtime, just fighting on,
A-driving and sweating from dawn to dawn.
Forgetful of danger, privation or pain
With never a thought of personal gain.
Out of the fox holes of Bataan,
He's been in there since the thing began,
Calling and pleading for planes and tanks
To strengthen his glorious fighting ranks.
In the Philippines, above the bay,
Hist'ry is written from day to day.
So, hats off to this fearless man;
A toast to all his fighting clan.
Let's all remember him in our prayers
As to the enemy he declares:
Out of the fox holes of Bataan-
To crush the heathens in Japan.
