The Bellevue Hospital is located on First Avenue, ex-
tending from 26th to 29th Street and from First Avenue
to the River, covering an area of 11% acres. This site
has been used as a hospital since 1826 and the present
buildings, when finished will form one of the most com-
plete hospitals in existence, with a capacity of about
2200 beds.
