THE HALL OF PHILOSOPHY is located in the
forest reservation called St. Paul's Grove. The original
hall, modeled after the Parthenon at Athens, has
been reconstructed and made a permanent memorial
to the founders of Chautauqua. The building was
erected by public subscription, and cost, including
the balustrade and approach, about $ 20,000.
