TRAVIS PARK is really a large plaza, and in it is the
grand monument to the Confederate dead, erected by the
Daughters of the Confederacy. The park is one block north
of Houston Street, and is surrounded by various churches, -
St. Mark's Episcopal Church on the northeast corner, Temple
Beth-El on the southeast, and the Travis Park Methodist
Church on the south west,
