Miss Stroud is wearing an 1800 style Cherokee velvet dress with a belt of woodland design applique, featuring a white turkey feather cape made by Winona Day and a copper crown designed by Willard Stone, famous Indian artist. Virginia's sister, Elizabeth Walters, designed and made the dress. National Miss Indian America Pageant, July 30, 31 and August 1, 1971. Sheridan, Wyoming.
