Nors Begay, Miss Indian America XVIII
Miss Begay, an attractive and personable
Navajo girl, won her title and responsibility
to all the Indians in the United States,
when she was chosen Miss Indian America
at the nationally-renowned pageant which
is part of the All American Indian Days,
staged annually at Sheridan, Wyoming.
This colorful event with its age-old cere-
monials, is unique in that it was originated
for the express purpose of bettering under-
standing and respect between the Indian
and non-Indian.
