GRACIE ANN WELSH, MISS INDIAN AMERICA XXIV
Mohave-Chemehuevi-Yavapai
From Parker, Arizona, enrolled with the Colorado River In-
dian Tribes, Miss Welsh is well qualified by experience with
inter-tribal cooperation to assume the responsibility of rep-
resenting all Indians. She participates with enthusiasm in
rodeo, music, sports and traditional skills. She advocates
knowledge and practice of native culture as a means to en-
rich our total human experience. Gracie's Mohave name,
"Mesh-hi-hewah-ahote," Good Hearted Girl, describes her
approach to her reign, 1977-78 through the 25th NATIONAL
MISS INDIAN AMERICA PAGEANT, July 28, 29 and 30, 1978,
sponsored by ALL AMERICAN INDIAN DAYS, Inc., Box 451,
Sheridan WY 82801.
