TECUMSEH'S INDIAN TRADING POST
AND FORT NORTH KILL VILLAGE
Our Trading Post offers a large selection of
Authentic Indian and Frontier Crafts, Indian
Weapons, Costumes, etc. Also when visiting our
Trading Post be sure to see Fort North Kill Vil-
lage. This is a 7 acre Historic Site, dedicated to
the preservation of the culture and history of the
American Indian and Frontier Life. On the
grounds you will find a Large Indian Museum
housing thousands of Indian Relics and Crafts
and the largest diorama of Custer's Last Stand,
containing thousands of hand painted figures.
Also a full size reconstruction of Fort North Kill,
which also contains items of the Early Frontier
days.
We also have a full size Indian Village with
Tepees, Wigwams and Bark Huts. In the village
can be seen the tools, utensils, weapons, clothing
and ceremonial items used by the Indian in his
everyday life. There is also a burial ground near
the village showing different types of burials and
a sacred shrine.
There is also a building that houses a collection
of Antique Guns, Powder Horns, Knifes, etc. of
the Early Frontier. On weekends the visitor may
also see Frontiermen in full Buckskin Costumes,
demonstrating muzzle loading guns, tomahawk
throwing and other frontier weapons.
