Strictly Fresh From the Northern Pacific's Dairy and Poultry Farm (Stamped NPRD&PT)
Additional Details:
Series 5039C
The eggs served on our dining cars are from our poultry farm near Kent, Washington, where 11,000 White Leghorn hens are laying these big meaty ones every day. A herd of three hundred thoroughbred cows - also at Kent - produces our milk and cream supply. The Northern Pacific has its own bakeries at St. Paul and Seattle, from which come all the bread, French pastry, cakes and pies served. We are this season planting several acres of land at Paradise, Montana, with vegetables and fruit which will be specially grown for our dining cars. You've probably heard about our great big baked potatoes - the best to be found in all the fertile fields we traverse. The drinking water used is from Pokegama Springs at Detroit, Minn., filtered and bottled at the springs. Service that sets the pace. |

While living in Kent Washington I found a half pint milk bottle from the Northern Pacific Railway dairy and poultry farm. I was clearing 50 years of blackberries from the side of this huge red barn and there was a concrete slab under years of berry plants. while cleaning I discovered the slab had a big crack in it. While cleaning all the debris I found the bottle and it has all the info embossed in the glass. TMFC CO. 16 yellowstone park line
