Glenfield" A picturesque cottage-villa,
set in midst of wild landscape. One section
is Spanish (1812), having porch enclosed by
hand-hewn blinds; the other section, English
Gothic, added in 1825. Here, under Capt.
Wirt Adams, Confederate cavalry held back
northern troops from invading Natchez. Bullet
holes in doors and walls and uniform buttons
and medals found on lawns of the house, bear
evidence of the battle around "Glenfield.”
Home of Mrs. Lee B. Field.
