No. 223. The Wentworth Arms.
Old Bennington.
This charming old time inn is favored by
its immediate proximity to many historic
spots of early Vermont history.
The road in the foreground encircles the
battle monument grounds, upon which were
located the Continental Store House, the
State Arms, Jail, Whipping Post, Pillory
and Vermont Gazette building, of Revolu-
tionary days. This Old New England Way-
side house combining all the comforts of
modern equipment and service with the
warm hospitality and cozy atmosphere of
earlier days, hangs its latch-string out, in-
viting the hungry to sup, and the weary to
rest here, any time the year 'round. Mr.
William Rehm is ye host.
