Opequon Golf Club

This most attractive club house is located on a high eminence, overlooking much of the lower Shenandoah Valley, about two miles from Martinsburg on the Martinsburg-Shepherdstown Road. The club was organized January 1, 1922, and the attractive bungalow erected and the nine-hole golf course laid out during the following year. The club owns ninety acres of land bordering on Opequon Creek, from which the club takes its name. "Opequon" is an Indian word and means "frothing white stream."
