At the time of the ice
sheet, about 25.000 years
ago, an enormous boul-
der, weighing many tons,
was brought down from
the mountains above and
rested over the top of
the gorge at a point in-
dicated by a small sign.
This boulder was carried
away in the great flood
of June 1883.
