BRIDGE BUILDING. All the cadets are required, to
devote considerable attention to the engineer work of the army,
notably the construction of pontoon bridges under exactly the
same conditions that would prevail in actual warfare. With
practice they gain marvelous facility in the speedy construction
of a floating roadway for the passage of an army over a stream
of almost any width.
