Post Office. The Post Office is an imposing structure of
four stories, built of dressed granite, and surmounted by a
dome reaching 170 feet above the street. It cost about
8,000,000 dollars. There are other federal offices in this
building, and the Weather Bureau occupies quarters near
the roof, where its signals are displayed.
