The Brown Bear
Additional Details:
Wild Animals Series 401 The Brown Bear is to be found in most countries of Europe and Northern Asia, while other varieties of this species are to be met with in Syria, the Himalayas, and North America. The terrible Grizzly Bear of America, for instance, is considered to be only a variety of the European species. The Brown Bear, which subsists chiefly on fruit, vegetables and honey, lives in forests or mountains, and sleeps through the winter hidden away in the hollow of a tree or cave. When caught young, it is easily trained and makes a harmless and amusing pet. |
