The Horse. (Equus caballus.)
The Horse, one of the most beautiful and noble of animals,
has worked for man in various ways as far back as history
dates. There are many different kinds that we can see for
ourselves, the Hunter, Cart Horse, War Horse, Carriage Horse,
Race Horse, Ponies, and many others, the Arabian species being
one of the handsomest. Horses in their wild state and in great
herds are found in Mexico, where they are called Parameros,
in South America, where they go by the name of Mustangs,
and in Turkey where they are Tarpases. Wild Horses are
also to be met with in Thibet.
