A FUNNY STORY EVERY DAY.
Luncheon Chairman's 12 Years' Record.
For 12 years Mr. W. E. Tucker of Longton Grove,
Sydenham, has had to tell a new funny story
every day of his life, except Saturdays and
Sundays.
During that time he has been chairman of the
famous "fish ordinary" lunches at Simpson's,
76, Cheapside, and the arduous condition attached
to the office is the ability to tell a new story
daily at luncheon.
Mr. Tucker, however, is seldom at a loss for a
witty tale. He has just celebrated the 63rd
anniversary of his wedding, and one of his most
valued possessions is a letter sent by the King
three years ago when he celebrated his diamond
anniversary. A sense of humour is he believes,
a solution to most of life's ills.
Mr. Tucker is 85 and enjoys good health.
