Won 17 major golf tournaments in a row, including
the National Woman's Amateur, Tam O'Shanter All-
American, North and South, Augusta Titleholder Tour-
ney, Broadmoor, Texas Woman's Open and the British
Women's Amateur Championship. Chosen Woman Ath-
lete of the Half Century in 1950. Death came to her in
Oct. 1956.
