Front:
Globular Star Cluster
in the Constellation of Hercules
NGC 6205, Messier 13
DISTANCE: 34,000 LIGHT YEARS. (1 LIGHT YEAR 6 MIL-
LION MILLION MILES.) THERE ARE AT LEAST 50,000 STARS
IN THIS CLUSTER. THEY CANNOT ALL BE COUNTED SINCE THE
STAR IMAGES AT THE CENTER RUN TOGETHER. ACTUALLY THE
AVERAGE DISTANCE BETWEEN STARS IS SOME 50,000 TIMES
THE DISTANCE OF THE EARTH FROM THE SUN (93 MILLION
MILES.) CONSEQUENTLY THEY CAN MOVE FREELY WITHOUT
DANGER OF COLLISIONS.
