Additional Details:
The British were pursued until dark, the Americans, in both engagements, killing 207, wounding 80 and capturing 654, a total loss to the enemy of 941. The American loss was only 30 killed and about 40 wounded. The aggregate number of Americans engaged was about 1800. The British had about the same number, including the Tories and Indians. It was a highly important victory, being the first regularly fought one in the Revolution and the first serious check to Burgoyne's advance.
