Organized in 1937 to perpetuate the traditions of The Old West, this group honors Mountain Man Kit Carson, who opened the Sierra Nevada mountain pass bearing his name. The Mountain Men annually produce the "Days of Kit Carson" on the 3rd weekend of June, in Jackson, California. This buckskin-clad mountain group participates in numerous parades throughout Northern California.
