Some 3500 people are shown here during the
150th Observance of the Battle of Horseshoe
Bend and the Dedication of the Park Visitor
Center. The Horseshoe Bend Battle Park Associa-
tion arranged the program which included such
notables as Thomas W. Martin, Judge Coley,
Thomas D. Russell, retiring Rep. Albert Rains,
Elbert Cox (Director Southeast Region National
Park Service), Rev. Denson Franklin, Rev. Charles
Donner, members of the 604th Air Force Band,
Richard Crowe (Cherokee) and Chief McGhee of
the Eastern Band of the Creek Indian Nation,
Atmore, Ala.
