Affectionately referred to as a "whirley-bird" a heli-
copter used primarily for air-sea rescue work at the
Naval Air Missile Test Center, Point Mugu, Calif., pre-
pares to land beside the Center's operations hangar. In
the background is the aerology tower which perches atop
the hangar. Equipment in this tower automatically proc-
esses data from weather balloons launched at the Center,
translates and transmits it to the Aerology Division.
