WRIGHT BROS. BIPLANE.
The American brothers, Messrs. Wilbur and Orville
Wright, rank among the foremost of aviators. They
are probably the first men who made practical flights with
machines that were heavier than air. They were the first
to construct the double-deck motor-propelled aeroplane,
and from the many successful flights they achieved from
time to time made it a certainty that to fly will be one
of the ordinary modes of locomotion in the near future.
Instead of starting on wheels, as nearly all other machines
do, the Wright aeroplane is launched from a special rail.
