About 300 men, women and children take
part in the Corn Dance. All of the men dancers
are dressed in this costume, which is worn only
on this occasion. The dance comprises num-
erous and complicated movements, and is very
interesting and spectacular. Santo Domingo is
the second largest of the Rio Grande pueblos,
and has a population of about 1,000.
