Mount Tacoma from Tacoma Hotel. About 40 miles.
south-east of the city is Mount Tacoma, that lofty peak of
the Cascades towering over 14,519 feet above the sea level.
Its glaciers, mountain torrents, waterfalls, and the mar-
velous variety of its flora, form a most wonderful and
magnificent combination of scenic grandeur. From the
Tacoma Hotel the giant, snowy mass stands out in bold
relief against the sky.
