OOT'S strain of leather-colored Italian bees have
become so well known the world over that
there is a heavy demand for our queens. Our
bees are so gentle that children may approach the
hives with no danger from stings.
To secure needed shade for our hives during the
hot months, grapevines were planted by the side of
each hive. These yield an abundance of luscious
fruit each season, and we have quite exploded the
fallacy that bees are injurious to grapes. The fact of
the matter is, bees are a necessary agent for the pol-
lenization of many fruit-blossoms; and if every fruit-
grower would keep a few hives of bees he would be
amply rewarded by an increased and superior crop.
Incidentally the bees would more than pay for them-
selves by the honey made.
