THE ARCADE was built in 1881 at an expense of $125,000,
but has since been improved, until the present cost far exceeds
this sum; it contains a hotel with 125 rooms, a number of
office rooms, and a large business college at the north end.
The tracks of the New York Central lines pass the south end-
of the building, and the north end reaches to High Street,
a distance of 400 feet.
