Additional Details:
Is located a short distance below Donner Pass on the banks of Truckee River. With the building of Central Pacific Railroad as far as Truckee a wagon road was built to Tahoe City. The town, once a lumbering camp, now a stock and railroad center, sprawls over the rocky slopes of the pine covered hills. The first California ski club was organized here in 1913. The area is known for its fine winter sports.
