TRUCKEE, CALIFORNIA is located a short distance below
Donner Pass on the banks of Truckee River. With the build-
ing of Central Pacific Railroad as far as Truckee a wagon
road was built to Tahoe City. The town, once a lumbering
camp, now a stock and railroad center, sprawls over the
rocky slopes of the pine covered hills. The first California
ski club was organized here in 1913. The area is known
