Adamsville is about twelve miles
miles from
Birmingham and is near the center of its large
industrial activity. Some idea of the wonder-
ful development of the country in the past ten
years can be gained from the fact that Birming-
ham increased in population from 1900 to 1910
two hundred and forty-five per cent. It is
the greatest industrial section of the South.
The State ranks second in the production of
cotton; the corn crop in 1910 was valued at
forty-five million dollars. Other agricultural
pursuits are equally profitable.
