This thriving little farm and lum-
ber town in Northern Arizona got
its name in 1878 from the draw-
ing of cards by two pioneer part-
ners to decide ownership of the
land on which the town now
stands. Deuce of clubs showed
low in the draw - thus the
town's unusual name.
