of almost an entire city block in this
fascinating old California town. The orig-
inal hotel was built in 1858. The restored
building now houses a number of unusual
shops, as well as the excellent dining
rooms and bars of the famous old hotel,
widely known for its gourmet meals and
early California memorabilia.
