Dr. James Bliss House - Danforth Street
Dr. James Bliss served as a Surgeon's Mate in the
Revolutionary War. During the winter months
when no heat was available in the Meeting-house,
town meetings would be adjourned to this home.
Nearby stood the Redway Plain, a muster ground
for the Rehoboth Militia. In the foreground is a
group of the newly activated, Colonel Thomas
Carpenter Militia, a veteran regiment of the Rev-
olution.
