Washington Hall, the building in which this
Restaurant is located, was destroyed by fire
started by Union soldiers in the Civil War.
It was restored by the people of Charles Town
in 1874. The site for the building was donated
by Charles Washington, a brother of the First
President, who owned the land on which
Charles Town was built.
