MISSISSIPPI ... Representing the
latest in research and engineering tech-

niques, is the largest grassroots refinery
built in the United States in recent years,
with a capacity in excess of 100,000 barrels of
crude oil a day. The refinery is fed by 150 miles of
20-inch pipeline (100 miles of which is laid on the
bottom of the Gulf of Mexico) from a pump station
and tank farm in the mouth of the Mississippi River.
