crest; one next In order
the crest of the mother of
the owner of the house;
then the fourth in order is
his wife's mother's crest;
after these the next one is
the owner's uncle's crest,
and the last one the crest
of the owner's wife's uncle.
As a rule there are only
four figures carved on the
totems, only the totems of
of the greatest chiefs have
six figures carved.
