Situated on Mount Locke at an elevation of
6,825 feet, it contains the second largest Tele-
scope in the world, weighing 75 tons. The
diameter of the mirror is 82 inches, weight-
21/2 tons. Diameter of Dome is 62 feet, weight
125 tons, while the height of building is 73
feet to top of dome. It is the pride of s. W
Texas. A fine road from Fort Davis leads to
the top.
