In 1817 Zephniah Kingsley, Slaver and Land Owner,
came into possession of Fort George Island, Florida.
He developed a large Plantation and built a house
for himself and a small house for Anna Jay, an
African Princess, whom he married by tribal ritual.
Kingsley house and grounds are now a State Park.
Located north of Jacksonville Beach on AIA.
