Jeff Gordon achieved another milestone in his
racing career by becoming the first three-time
winner of the 2001 Brickyard 400. Despite starting
no o
27th, the lowest starting position of any Brickyard
400 winner, he managed to beat Sterling Marlin to
the finish by .943 seconds. Gordon also won the
inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994 and again in
1998.
